2002 Honda Odyessy
Ironwedge,
I was certainly glad that I was driving my wife's Odyssey yesterday afternoon, rather than my S2000. We were stopped in the Christmas shopping traffic when we were rear-ended by an Oldmobile Intrigue doing about 45 MPH.
I still can't believe that the Odyssey has only minor scratches and two very small dents (about the size of a dime) on the bottom of the rear door. I really don't understand why my Honda didn't look more like the Oldsmobile (the front end was pretty much gone). I'm certainly not complaining, just puzzled. Luckily everyone in both cars was OK except for strained muscles.
I'm very thankful for those four, five star crash ratings that the Odyssey earned. This is just ONE of the reasons that we selected a Honda.

Tomorrow could be a busy day if everyone is open. I'll have to talk to the insurance agent to get the accident report signed and in the mail to the state police. Then hopefully, my favorite body shop will be open so that I can get an estimate to get the repair process started. Then off to the local Honda dealer to get another estimate (we need an unusally high one).
I did check underneath the van before I started it up after the accident just to make sure that I wasn't leaking anything. I couldn't see any damage anywhere, that's the really strange thing about this wreck. I want to make sure that the whole rear end isn't sprung. The body shop that I will take it to will check for everything. I've been using them for years and they're the best that I've seen.
I'll see what tomorrow brings.

Here's a Long Term owner report for you. Our other car is a 95 Odyssey...now with about 92,000 miles and have never had a major problem or complaint. The "tumble under" seats were originated in this model...very handy. Ours is underpowered (2.2
) so the new one should be even more enjoyable on the highway

The MDX still requires premium fuel. The Odyssey does not. The ECU tuning may be different to give the MDX more low end torque (it certainly feels stronger at the lower rpms and does not run out of breath as soon as in the '02 Odyssey).
The MDX:
Horsepower, SAE Net 240-hp @ 5300 rpm
Torque 245 lb.-ft. @ 3000-5000 rpm
The '02 Odyssey:
Horsepower@rpm (SAE net) 240 @ 5500
Torque (lb.-ft.@rpm) 242 @ 4500
The MDX:

Torque 245 lb.-ft. @ 3000-5000 rpm
The '02 Odyssey:

Torque (lb.-ft.@rpm) 242 @ 4500
