Talking 2010 FIFA WORLD CUP

Debuts June 11th, held in South Africa: http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/matches/index.html

Go USA! The U.S. team has a chance to win Group C, with England being their fiercest competitor.

I wanted to be a professional soccer player, but didn't have enough skills; played in high school and college too. Why couldn't I be like Pele?

Hup Holland!

Spain is the obvious choice, but we'll see. It should be a good tournament.

(BTW - there is a thread going in the sports section).

i can't f'ing wait, have a countdown app on my phone

i really don't care who wins, i just love a month of non-stop soccer

i love the heart these guys play with when it comes down to national pride.
i also miss the world cup commercials for _____ (can't remember) that had all the superstars doing ridiculous things with a soccer ball from the late 90s

I'm a Germany fan, but things are looking bleak without Michael Ballack. I hope someone breaks Kevin Prince Boateng's leg. My money's on Holland atm . . .

Cool, just downloaded it. Thx!

I remember the 06 copa. I was studying for boards and taking breaks to watch matches, or parts of matches.

There are some cool commercials I saw recently. I'll post links when I get to a pc. I'm on the iPhone now.
