3 dead, 20 months in jail, is this fair?

i should have been clearer, the fact that he had drugs in his house and owned a gun and pulled a trigger 20 times, leads me to believe he was an unsavory character prior to the incident.
it may not be relevant to the case, but its evidence of his character.
sorry but it's not against the law to be an a$$hole.
otherwise Dubya would be serving a life sentence.

It's pretty clear that all the facts of the story are not present. If it were such a clear cut case, why would there be two trials and two hung juries?
I assume the same thing. Based only on what the article said, there would not have been two hung juries.

The article makes it seem like two guys just rolled up some guys they were arguing with earlier and layered the car with 20 rounds. I have a feeling it's a little more complex than that. Sad either way.

posts from at least 3 jurors (if they are actually the jurors) are available in the comments from those sites. it seems the reporter definitely left out a lot of information.

[QUOTE=juror]
I said it previously, but I'll say it again. (If I was wrong and Sidorchuk was pure evil, I think the judge would have increased the sentence.):

I was one of the jurors on the first trial and could not find that Dimitri Sidorchuk was guilty beyond a reasonable doubt on any of the charges, so I had to find him not guilty on all. I did so with anguish, as it was hard to find justification for number of shots that were fired. That being said, I could imagine that circumstances may have been such that I would have done the same.

I believe that the gun and clips that Sidorchuk used should be illegal, but they are not and so I can not hold that against him in the crime. As long as they are legal, punks are going to obtain them and use them. If it is the wisdom of Congress that they be legal, I cannot hold that against him.

I think that the police did their jobs well for the most part. I

Pretty sure he's out, I thought it was time served, which was 18 months. I could be wrong.
