Default 3m's security filter for laptops

or so I have been told by a friend of mine who works for 3m.

We don't have photo radar here so I haven't tried it but I understand put in a license plate frame it works.

Mythbusters just had a show about some of these things that are supposed to beat Laser/Radar etc., none worked, some even made the car easier to track and time.

I guess this doesn't affect the radar, rather it doesn't let the camera see the plate.

If your eye can see it, so can a radar camera. If you can't see it, then neither will a cop and you may be cited for an obstructed licence.

It about obscuring from an angle. You can see it straight on but not from the sides. However the security filters for screens tend to prevent seeing from the top or bottom. The problem then would be anyone riding in a car would be too high to see the plate = ticket. Now if you made a security filter that allowed only an angle of vision for cars directly dehind you then you'd probably be fine. Be aware that in most states even optically clear licence plate covers are illegal.

It also has to do with the flash from the camera. Some of the plate covers cause the entire license plate to be "overexposed" and un-readable when the flash hits it.
