Got 'em... I've been a Journey fan. My brother bought Escape and I used to listen to it over and over. I've got most of their CDs (with Steve Perry on vocals).

GOOD list! I've already Kate Bush, ABC, and the Clash.
Thinking about Thompson Twins and General Public?
As for the Police...already have all their stuff. Again, thanks to my brother....Ghost in the Machine was one my 1st albums.

I would pick The Beat (The English Beat in the US) over General Public.
I don't feel that the Thompson Twins music has aged too well.

How about some Psychedelic Furs ?

"Rock Me Amadeus" by I forget who.
"Planet Rock" by Africa Bambaataa
"I Wear My Sunglasses At Night" by Corey Hart
"You Can Still Rock In America" by Night Ranger
"Voices Carry" by 'Til Teusday
"No One Ever Is To Blame" by Howard Jones

Are you counting "hair bands" as 80's music?
