? about UPS service..
I e-mailed ups already but they haven't replied yet so I'm asking people on this board.. I ordered stuff and they sent it using ups.. the items are suppose to get arrive according to tracking system on the 30th of this month but what if I'm not here to pick it up? I'm going to be gone for 15 days and no one's going to be home to sign for it and pick up. I don't know my neighbors that good to ask them to pick it up for me. What do they do after 3rd attempt? I don't want them to send it back to the sender because they'll have the money and the item back to them.. anyone had this situation b4? can they hold my item till i get back and make them deliver it again>? thanks
I'll help you out, I currently work for UPS, FedEx, Airborne, DHL, and all the damn custom courriers there is. First off, after the 1st attempt they simply put it in their warehouse. From there if you don't pick it up within a certain amount of time they'll simply just either send it back or may continue holding it. To help you out, call the number tell them your going out of town and no one will be home to sign for it. Therefore once it arrives at their dock station, they'll put it in their warehouse and you'll come pick it up first thing when you get back. In some cases, UPS will be nice enough to deliver it to your home if you give them the notice and when you get back.
Good luck.
Good luck.
Thanks,, one more question.. is it just me or UPS just very freaking slow? it took me 6 days to get an item from L.A. to central valley(3.5 hrs drive).. I think it's very slow sometimes..
Well, it depends. If you choose ground, the guarantee is 4-5 days. If they don't have much to deliver and the city that it's being delivered is in a route of theirs, than yes they'll deliver it earlier than 4-5 days. It's all about the routes they take.
