ship tire alone:
put your address information on the tire and ship it. no need to shrink wrap anything.

ship wheel + tire:
you will have to protect the front of the rims from rubbing against each other but they can fend for themselves too.

i bought some tires where the person shipping was sort of stupid, the tape he used came apart in shipping. UPS came throught and kept them together for me.

keep in mind this stuff is heavy, expecially if you bundle 4 wheels together. just packing tape alone will not work.

I realize you don't want to spend too much, but you can find some small box company's that will make you 4 custom boxes for the rims if you'd like to protect them really well. The boxes aren't too expensive and will help save you from any claims that could happen otherwise due to shipping. Just a thought.

you need to find out how much they weight and how far they are going.... you can probably calculate it on their websites......

truck tires/wheels weigh 80lbs.... S2000 ~45lbs.....

you could be shipping 300 miles or 3000 miles for all we know....

too many variables to answer your question.....

Make sure you protect the face of the wheel with an old t-shirt or something. I've seen aluminum wheels get scratched by rubbing on the cardboard box.
