Add Falwell and Robertson to The List
Robertson and Falwell are an embarrassment to Christians everywhere. It's disgusting that they'd try and turn this tragedy into a devisive wedge for their political agenda. These 2 are truly the Taliban's of the Christian community.

No they didn't, they just adapted and became something else about 300AD. If you don't know who I'm talking about here's a clue. Their seat of power is in the same place it always has been.
[QUOTE][B]Would you not agree, that knowing the origins of your freedom are important as well as their fundamental precepts?

I'm sure for some this is true. I'm sure others just accept it as an article of faith

Faith is only solidified through knowledge of origin. This means that if it is accepted by belief alone that it would be considered "Blind Faith". Most people have a yearning to find their origins both hereditary as well as spiritually. Our origins of the American Constitution came from succinct believers of the bible and it's doctrines of freedom. You'll notice, I didn't say religion! Religions are traditional in nature. It speaks of "We the People", and considers us as a whole, one entity. This is the scope of the greater picture. The second and very important sentence is "IN ORDER to form a more perfect union", denotes two desired meanings. One "in order" is to create order and second to maintain an orderly society. Which is conceived in liberty. (FREEDOM) Anyway you can see where this leads!

Either way in the case of Falwell and Robertson both premeditated and specifically used the tactic of placing "guilt" on those groups of individuals. It's not their place to do such things and to reprove this they need to go back and understand even their Christian origins. Their beliefs aren't mine! God took care of these things in the Old Testament without help from man. It still applies. Both have become extreme in their beliefs and their political agenda. These are not the acts of a humble, meek men!

more then just the religion that is mis-understood by most americans is the culture of hte middle east. This is one of the reason that we have gotten in to so much trouble with the people of those countries. Borders and boundries do not mean as much to the islamic people as they do to americans. The thing that brings them together...their defining culture is their religion. An attack on an "enemy" of one middle eastern country can be seen as worse then the enemy if they view it as an attack on islam. They have been waring amongst themselves for a long time and only recently has the West tried to interfere. The last time we did (the crusades) were not so successful either. I am not excusing them, but to disregard their claims of why they are so angry at the US isn't right either.
From their point of view they had lived in their land for 2000 years and we just threw them out and made israel. The west made israel what it is today...and without our support it would not exist. The jews and muslims have been fighting forever....moving the jews in..and kicking the muslims out...was not good for the morale of the area. The palestinians living in israel are pretty much treated like animals. They are kept behind wire fences and shot if they even look like they are doing something. If any other country in the world was treating a certian religious/culutral group like this in their country...we would call it human rights viloations, but not here. Personally, we made israel we need to keep supporting them . We cannot throw them to the wolves after putting them their, but we also need to be fair in how we deal with them. What israel is doing to the palestinians is not fair or just. People should be treated with dignity no matter who they are.
Many of the people in the middle east do not have as much problem with their governments. We have the problem with their governments. I know it is in our national interest to have oil. We also made kuwait...to take care of our oil for us. The arabic nations (not just iraq) hated kuwait because they were very rich and controlled most of the oil. This country was made by the US in their land...very upsetting. It would be like if china made a new state next to the US and every tech company was in it. And they controlled all of the money and product out of our new economy...wouldn't make us too happy. The point is...we can't expect them to not be pissed.
Somalia was a good one too. The country was in a civil war of sorts and we showed up..didn't do much...and then left when shit got really bad!! hmm...probably not the smartest thing we could have done. What do you think the US would have done if...during our civil war britain had come over..split us into two sides, put us behind fences and told us to stop fighting....then when we did fight they would shoot us. After a while of this..they just got fed up and left..and we went back to fighting. I can imagine we would be very pissed at them.
Terrorism is their military. The palestinians who live in and around israel have no country, no military, no gov. They feel they are at war with israel and whoever supports them. Since they have no gov. to drop bombs for them....they use what they have..namely very feverent muslim people willing to die for a cause they deem just and great. Do agree with their tactics...NO, but I also don't agree with the way their people are treated by israel and it's alies.
Why am i bringing this stuff up?? To excuse the World Trade Center bombing?? NO WAY. But, in the US our media rarely covers and event like this well. TV is made up of 2 minute sound bites and very little real information. The Gulf war...people said we killed about 100k...try about 800k-1000k. When iraq "invaded" kuwait..they killed a handful of people. People in the arabic world didn't have a problem with this. This is they way they had lived for thousands of years. They are like a family also. The fight all the time, but when you pick on one...a lot of times you pick on them all. Also, they do not look at an event in the past and say...that was in the past. An attack on them 30 years ago is just added on pile of attacks and meddling by the western world. They don't appreciate this. When was the last time a country outside of the middle east was invaded by a middle eastern or North african country?
I know we have our interests down their..namely oil, but we can't assume our warring and meddling would go unnoticed by them. They have lashed out at us. They have declared war on us. I hope that when we do strike back that is in a just and righteous way and not a angry consuming way. I hope we learn from past mistakes and injustices and don't make more. it does not make the US weak to admit things we have done in the past have been wrong. It does not mean we bow to terrorists to take a hard look at some of our foreign policies that have now gotten us in a bitter war of hate with some muslim people. I would like this to not happen again. Just killing middle easterners will not help this not happen again. A foreign policy of staying out of things that are not our business and treating all people justly will. I am not saying other countries are perfect or we are the "great satan," but what I am saying is that we are not perfect and their are things we can do (that don't involve bombs) that can make the world a safer more peaceful place to live.

I am saddened by the likes of Messrs. Falwell and Robertson who make it so difficult to understand what true Christianity is. They are not fundamentalists because that word, should it mean anything, means one who adheres to the most basic underlying principles of an ideology. Christ's basic tenet was to abhor sin, but to love sinners; this in fundamentalism. I find it difficult to unearth the love of sinners in their comments.
Once again, this shows how extremists on every side are dangerous. It could be a left-wing nut blowing up people in the name of Allah or a right-wing fundamentalist shooting a doctor at an abortion clinic in the name of God. Either way, they are both sick a-holes.
With the horrendous tragedy that rocked this country our focus is on rescue/recovery, prevention and annihilation of terrorists. When the smoke clears I hope these two repulsive creatures are taken to the wood shed. Makes you want to bang their heads together like the 3 stooges.
