I'm sorry to hear of your problem, you can get help in alot of places but the key is to set limits. ALSO you are playing two terrible games (blackjack, roulette) which give you no chance of walking away a winner.
Roullette is a fools game but blackjack actually has one of the best set of odds for the player of any casino game, IF you play correctly. House advantage can be easily lowered to less than 1% with a simple mathematical strategy.

Keep in mind, the house still has the advantage. Just walk away while you still can. Don't try to set limits and all that stuff, if you are bright enough to know you might be getting addicted to it you are bright enough to walk away. Find something else to occupy your time until it has become a lost interest. Like hot chicks.

Sorry to get off topic but can anyone explain how the house has the advantage in Blackjack?

Every other week I play in a $200-300 buy in tourney and I have done very well. Went home with 2K two times in a row, and if i lose so what.
Out of curiousity do you play home games or at a bar? I see you live in the orlando area, i've been looking for some good tournaments around here. I was thinking about trying Daytona, any suggestions?

find another hobby. Don't hang out with people when they go to the casino. If you hang around gambling junkies, just like anything else, that's what you become.

Buy a xbox or something, and start obsessing over winning in a game that doesn't cost you money at quite the same rate.

If you think you have a problem, by all means quit gambling. Easier said than done, I know, but you need to get involved in something else so you don't care if you aren't gambling. Maybe a drug habit? (joking)

For starters I uninstalled all the online gambling software and canceling the trip to the casino this weekend. I guess it's a start.

Now sit back and think of all the money you saved by doing that.

I consider myself lucky for I do not have one cent of credit card debt, but that still doesn't excuse the loss of money from gambling.

You really should talk to a professional about this, it is a serious matter, and IMO, falls way outside of the advice you would get on this forum. I mean interspersed in this thread are people asking where they can go an gamble.

Addiction of any kind can be very powerful. You're aware of it, take the neccesary steps to insure that you can control it.. and good luck!

PS, I can't remember seeing it in Vegas ( US ) but the casinos local to me in Toronto all offer gambling addiction counselling for free to anyone that asks.

Sure, we typically play a home game (at my house). We just play sit and go from 8-11PM, unlimited buy-ins, $20 initial buy, 25-50 blinds that raise 50 ct every 30 min. Alot of times we play on fri before we go out as well. The best tourneys i found around here are the sun cruz casino in cocoa. $100-150 buy in, 3K-5K winner pot, takes place on wednesdays.
