I agree with redleader. I am 25, and have dated men considerably older than me who acted like children and men younger than me who were more mature than I ever have a hope of being.

How old she looks is pretty irrelevant except for the perk of getting reduced prices on lots of entry fees when ticket takers give her the child's rate. (I know. On the other hand she will have to whip out her driver's licence to see R-rated movies. J/K...sort of.)

If you two are happy then you are a leg up on a lot of couples. Worry about the big things like happiness, compatibility, and fun. In other words, go for it. Life's an adventure.

Maturity is definitely (to me) the deciding factor. I mean, Natalie Portman looks like she's 14 (and she's, what, 24 or something?) so looks aren't the issue.

My dad is 49 and my stepmom is 31. They are, however, getting a divorce...

I don't know - I think it's nice to find someone close to your age since you tend to be more compatible in the long run. However, as some have mentioned, getting someone younger tends to make life spicier, more fun, zesty, etc, etc. That said, you can always find someone like that that is (roughly) the same age as you are that adds that extra spice but is still relatively mature. I did.

Good luck, either way.

No problem! I'm 54 and my "girlfriend" is 42! We're very happy. As a matter of fact, we were on a commuter train coming home last week and someone remarked that he was amazed at our "perfect picture of domestic tranquility." Pretty funny, I've been separated two years and my GF is a divorcee!. Some guys are so lucky BTW, she looks GREAT in my s2k!!

Well, I have always dated guys a few years older than my. Just broke off a 5 year relationship, he was 28, I'm 22. Now I am dating a guy that is 30. I have a tendency to act way more mature than my age because of what I do for a living. I am surrounded by people much older than me all the time. My boyfriend is actually more suited for me than my ex because he is way more outgoing, likes to party with friends but has the same maturity level as me. Meaning he's not all fun and games. Similar interests and in some cases education play a very important role in long term relationships, like I have a feeling this one will be too.

Yes everyone, Trouble is officially off the market for now.

And I look about 14 most of the time. *lol*
