How about you? Have you ever served your country in the military, Junior?
F4C Phantom = old plane = joke about being old = "did you know the Wright Brothers?"

Sorry I offended you as it was not my intention. You might want to turn on your joke sensor, though.

I suppose you gave back all your paychecks, too, huh?

WTF is that supposed to mean>

I think he means that if you were really going to serve the country, you wouldn't take pay for it. Otherwise, one could argue that you didn't serve your country in the military but rather you were paid to provide your services in the military to the country.

But that's just a guess on my part.

Made me spit Diet Dew on the papers on my desk! That was cruel -- it IS a 50 year old aircraft design, though.

I think they used to say : "a true triumph of thrust over aerodymamics." I must say, it was really amazing that they were able to get something that heavy to fly in excess of MACH 2 with the electronics of the day.

When I was part of the F110 engine project in Turkey for the F-16 in the late 80s (yep, I'm that old)the Turks were still flying F-4's. They were flying F-4Es and RF-4Es though. I'm pretty sure they still fly them along with the F-16s. That country is armed to the teeth, I tell ya.

Anyway, back to topic. OP wants to know if anyone is in the Air Force?

Back to topic. But thanks for the laugh

1). What field are you in the AF?
2). Out of the branches, Marines/Navy/Army/etc, why choose AF?
3). ....that's all that I could think of lol
