you could say "i don't like this from a partner" as opposed to "my ex bf used to do this all the time and it made me really angry when he did that and he did that a lot, so if you could not be like him that'd be great".

same goes for what you like
ohohoh i thought you meant like...don't talk about past relationships as in...why you guys broke up and such. yeah...the whole "my ex used to do this" thing is annoying. hi spen!

I tell happy stories. . . I don't tell sad stories. . . and as far as lost nights in Mexico. NOBODY but my lawyer and I know about those.

i would agree with you on this one prodigy. i wouldn't open up to just anyone. there are things that need to be known immediately and things that only need to be shared if there really is a future between you and this girl. if she cares about you enough, she'll learn to forgive/forget your past worrisome incidents.

Like previous posters mentioned, there's a time and place for everything. Everyone has a past, but there are some things your partner probably just doesn't want/need to know. That all depends on who's involved.

Airing your "dirty laundry" doesn't have to only involve stupid shit you did previously, but things that are difficult about your history (ex. if you were abused as a kid or you have a bad relationship with a parent). For me, opening up about that kind of stuff not only shows me you're willing to risk (which will make us closer), but it also gives me a better perspective about what has contributed to who you are as a person today - and that kind of thing can directly impact a long-term relationship.

Girls will lie like crazy to get you to like them. They'll tell you your friend was totally trying to get with her when you know your friend well enough to know she's bullshitting. She just wants you to know that she's desired by others and you need to trust her and your friends. She'll try to get you on your side by telling you BS innocent stories about her. Slept with 3 guys? Try @ least 9. All were boyfriends? The 3 were probably her boyfriends. If you fall for it, your done for.

You can't spill your secrets or tell too much about yourself too quickly. No matter how much of a catch they thought you were, they'll lose interest. This is referring to party girls mostly. I can't really speak on nice girls, but TRUST. I've fallen for a few of these lies in the past. Honestly, guys might get tired of it and stop playing the game after you think you're serious, but the game is always on. It might slow down a bit during the really intimate stages, but once you drop the game, it's over for you.

First of all, longest sentence in History. 106 WORDS!

So when you start talking to a new girl, and it goes past the casual stuff and you realize this one isn't a temporary girl, and you start doing things like actually paying attention to what she says, planning things with her that you're actually ok with spending a lil bit of money that doesn't just involve other people and alcohol, your not talking to your temporary girls, and ya'll can actually chill out without big plans and such bc you actually want to see each other, do you ever get around to airing out a little bit of that dirty laundry?

I am with everyone else on this, keep most of it to yourself. We've all had crazy crap happen to us, or been responsible for some things that were aren't overly proud of, so why be so keen to share it?

Best case scenario, she or he totally understands and can relate the craziest thing you can offer and doesn't have any concerns that this new person is spilling everything to them (which means they too are messed up, like you )

Worst case, they say "man you're messed up" or "I just can't believe you'd do something like that." and they say bye bye. Definitely build a stronger foundation so they know what you REALLY are like and don't assume the dirty laundry is the norm for you when it's really the exceptions to the normal life you lead.

I could care less, though, if the female wants to stop talking because I'd try to be honest with her. I'm more concerned with finding out Everything about her before I wait 2 years and find out my girl's the one who ****ed everyone in the click back in 03 at the kappa party

it'd have to be atleast somewhat grammatically correct to qualify as the longest sentence in history
