is it ALL THAT
I would never become super rich from work because I would quit as soon as I had enough to do so. The promise of more would not keep me working to get better "things".
I save money to aquire wealth to purchase what I want most, freedom. Freedom from having to work everyday. Freedom to do what I want.
When it comes time to retire and I have the choice to work one more year to add say a brand new 911, the answer would be "No thank you."

The golf club where I work has 5 members on the Forbes 400 (yes, I checked
) and the other 150 are all within spitting distance of the bottom end of it. I don't know a single one who isn't happy, and there are very few trophy wives among them. Granted their homes are completely unbelievable, and while there cars out here are just...ok, back on the mainland most of them have collections most of us would cut an arm off for. Now the subsection of the wealthy I deal with is a bit skewed, the club has a very adamant yet unwritten "No Asshole" policy; anyone who can't abide by that be it member, guest, or employee finds themselves out on their ass very quickly. It's happened several times, not a pretty situation.
Personally, I don't think I'd enjoy it that much. Not sour grapes at all, I'm very happy for these people as I am for most people who have something I don't (not a jealousy issue, but I'm very content with where I am), but for the truly wealthy, I've got to imagine it takes the special out of life. By the special, I mean the fill-in-the-blank that you look forward to. Instead of looking forward to whatever it is you are going to buy, where you are going to eat, the vacation you are going to take, it just happens now. Maybe it's just my vantage point on things, but I've often found that the anticipation of something is oftentimes as enjoyable if not more enjoyable then the actual pay off. Eventually I have to imagine it would get old just having every single thing put on your lap the moment you wished for it.
Ah who am I kidding, it'd be great.

Poor people are mostly UnHappy.
Wealthy people are mostly Happy.
Average people on the other hand, are mostly Happy because they are not Poor, But most are UnHappy because they are not Wealthy.
I am F@#$!NG Happy!

Too much money is definitely not good. Enough money and you'll live great. But what's too much and what's enough? Before I had my S, I guaranteed myself that once I get S, I'd be happy. Now that I have S, there are plenty of better cars out there that I REALLY want to own one day. Now, when that day comes and I buy the car, I know I will want something that's even more superior. It's never-ending, you know it.
