Default Marijuana Lifestyle

Is anybody here have a really nice life and smokes marijuana? I mean I know there are rich ass sport stars and movie stars and music stars who smoke but since their lifestyle is more fantasy then real life I tend to discount what they do. I mean honest people who work for a living. Those people who have husbands, wives, kids, own a home, have a really good job, etc. Those are the people I am talking about. I wonder if it is possible. I am a regular smoker in my mid 20s and I am definately on the success path with career, family, home, etc but I don't know if I can continue this track and still remain a smoker. I have advanced degrees, excellant job and all but I am worried. I mean all the pot heads out there seem to waste their life away being stupid or have stupid jobs, or whatever. I want to hear from people who smoke but continue to have a successful life.

And people, please dont flame me saying that you can have a successful life as long as you are happy. I get that. This thread is not about differenciating what makes someone successful or not. I am reaching out to people who own their own business, do well in college, are executives, have meaningful relationships, etc.

I love smoking but I am willing to give it up if it can potentially ruin my life or at least not get me to the point I want to be at. And please dont tell me if can ruin my life if i get arrested I understand that but that is not even an issue in my case. And neither is the health effects because I use a vaporizer that eliminates all of the carcinogens associated with the standard way of smoking with a flame.

Wow man, being a smoker, I would have thought you would have caught on to what most smokers know. There are TONS of successful people out there that smoke. I am close personal friends with 3 presidents of multi-million dollar companies, and all 3 smoke. They all have kids, and a wife and live normal lives. You also see a lot of smoking in the programming world, as it's almost a part of our "culture". Heck, depending on who you ask, Bill Clinton has toked a few times at least as well, and he became president of the United States. Just my $.02

Obviously a lot of people smoked when they were in HS or college but I was referring to later in life. Clinton did become president but I dont think he stills smokes currently. It just seems like a lot of people I knew who smoked pot in college were retards and were probably not going to get very far. But you say you have 3 friends who are CEOs. Thats pretty reassuring.

I vrip often as well. It's the same thing as others having a drink or two, IMO, except for the fact that I'm not doing anywhere near the damage to my body that drinking and/or smoking would cause. I'm a NORML member, a strong supporter of medical marijuana, and what I would consider a very successful member of society.

The bad rap marijuana has is there for a reason and it has nothing at all to do with health concerns or detrimental effects on the body and/or brain. It is a fact that marijuana DOES NOT kill brain cells but instead temporarily paralyzes them although Nancy's good ol' "This is your brain on drugs" campaign worked brainwashing marvels. It's all about the Marijuana Tax Act Law of 1936 and the Dupont corporation. Do the research. If Dupont had not come up with a chemical agent to convert wood pulp in to paper we would still be using hemp right now for hundreds of things and marijuana, the flowers from the hemp plant, would not be illegal.

Just to put things in to perspective for you, 93% of the world's paper is made from wood. In 1988 the U.S. Department of Agriculture stated that it takes 4.2 acres of twenty year old trees to produce the same amount of paper as only ONE acre of hemp. Also, hemp will grow in all climatic zones of the contiguous 48 states.

So why again is it illegal? Capitalism at its finest and big business in bed with big government.

Yea I know all about the marijuana stamps you had to get to buy marijuana and the fact that it was next to impossible to get those stamps. I mean the United States first few presidents all owned hemp plantations!

I guess I got a little brainwashed with all the potential damage it could cause. But there seems to be such a bad stigma associated with marijuana use though.

Brainwashing works wonders doesn't it?

There's no doubt that the massive amounts of chemicals created from combustion can cause negative health concerns but as long as your vriping you're going about it in the most health conscious way possible.

I smoke daily as well, and yes, there are plenty of successful older folks who also smoke. They simply hide it better so that peers, colleagues, family, etc., don't find out. Marijuana does not impair one's ability to lead a productive life as the bullshit propaganda would suggest. For older folks, it's just more important to keep this kind of stuff a secret. It would be career suicide for your typical CEO to come out and say he smokes weed.

People from all walks of life smoke weed, and as most smokers eventually discover, one of the worst kept secrets of marijuana is that countless people smoke it, and you can almost never tell who. Contrary to popular belief, they aren't all living in the gutter begging for drug money or picking soda cans off the beach.

As with most anything else, marijuana can be destructive in the wrong hands or beneficial in the right hands (although I smoke it recreationally it has also helped my gas reflux problem immensely). It's nowhere near as destructive as the propaganda wants us to believe. Attitudes on this are starting to change, and I think we'll see people come around in the future, but it will still take considerable time. Until then, on.

Reefer is illegal. While I don't have a problem with anyone smoking and I'm not against it, it is still illegal. That can mess your life up pretty quickly. Say you get pulled over. You just bought a bag of weed. The cop finds it. You get arrested. Let's say you bought an ounce (a felony in NC and other places as well). Let's say on your court date, you get a judge with no tolerance for dopeheads who had a bad morning and a flat tire. Let's say you get six months in county jail and a felony on your record forever.

It seems to me that with all the good things you've got going for you, you wouldn't take a chance of ruining your life to get high. Like I said, I'm not against weed. Just remember the worst case scenario is called the worst case scenario because it CAN happen.
