Absofreakinglutely!
If you're not ready for that kind of commitment, then IMO, you shouldn't have a dog.
Another what?
Your dog is going to die. Hopefully before you do. Get used to it. I really care for my pets but they are animals. they are not people. They are pets.
I think that people who go to extreme measures to keep a pet alive are all about themselves, not the animal. If you truly care about the comfort of an animal, you have it put down when it is time. Its the kind and compassionate thing to do.

In one breath you talk flippantly of how it's "just" a dog and on the other you're talking about compassion.
my mom fed my dog a grape or two each day for like 3 days. it was all fun and games when he was rolling it around all over the kitchen floor, but when it came time to do #2 it was muddbutt city so he hasnt had grapes since lol

Eating a pound of them at a time is the problem. Lab's like to scarf food down like it's an Olympic event.
And as much as I love my dog, there's no way in hell that I would spend 11K on her.

As much as I love my dog, he is still an animal, not a child. Even though he's "a part of the family", he's still a pet. $11K is kind of much to try to save a pet when it could be spent saving a child's life in a much poorer part of the world.
i heard that chocolate, onions, and now grapes shoyldnt be given to dogs. Who would of thought grapes, what eles is toxic to dogs that we dont know?
i give my dog grapes like 10 in 1 sitting, he loves to catch them and throw then around the room but mostly loves to puncture, squish and then eat them.

I've had a number of dogs in my life; unforunately, like all mortally-bound creatures, they die. It's sad. (And I don't say this in a negative way to the OP--I am sorry for the loss. This is more directed to the squabble above this post.)
"SheDrivesIt," from what I can tell, was not indicating that she is incompassionate to the death of an animal; merely, she is noting the absurdity of the expression "That's like the worst experience ever:" if that is the situation for you, then be satisfied that you've had a pretty good life, overall--or, at least a pretty uneventful one.
