Default alpine ipod deck - when does it come out?

Anyone know when the new Alpine deck with Ipod enabled control will come out? I know i know, "in the summer", but does anyone have a more definite date?

Thanks for your input!

On the email list so I should receive an update directly from Alpine when it becomes available. I just replaced or updated my work truck head unit to a 9827 so I could play MP3's and while I was doing it I ran an AI-net input with an adaptor so I can at least plug my IPOD into the system. I still have to manipulate the Ipod manually but it works fine.

Actually, i just called alpines customer service department, and they told me that all 2004 model year head units have the capapbilities of controlling the ipod, the wait is just for the cable that links the ipod to the head unit, which he told me wouldn't be out until fall. Hope that helps!

being an EJ (Electronics Junkie), there are several topics in the Electronics forum about this exact issue... and a lot of folks anxiously awaiting this adapter... i'd check in there for updates.

Not the stereo jack but the micro sized firewire port next to the stereo jack.

no, i know. i'm not talking about the Alpine adapter kit that runs the IPOD headphone out into a set of RCA's which input into the AI-Net changer input.

i'm talking about the upcoming Alpine unit which will interface w/ the firewire port that will control the IPOD as well as provide text information, etc... there are several threads on this issue. talk to Willie Gee - he's very familiar on this subject and in regular contact w/ Alpine.
