They say that the S version will get to 62 in about 7.5 seconds. That would be interesting.

 

I've already seen 4 different Minis running around town where I work (Oxnard, CA), and two of them had proper license plates. One was cream with a black top, the others were red/black, white/black and black/white. Seems like they'll all come to the U.S. market with contrasting tops. I understand the release date is scheduled for next spring.

Interesting dash arrangement on the new one. My old Mini had just a speedometer in the center - that was it. I wouldn't be surprised if you'll be able to get aftermarket mods later on which will drop the 0-60 time to the low 6's. For a Mini Cooper S, a 7+ time is not that great; the older S's were quite a lot faster.
