NEVER use Jiffy Lube, or any of the other "rapid oil change" places. They aren't cheaper or faster than the dealer, and if anything goes wrong, they shrug and disavow any responsibility. And they are a rip-off, to boot, as that link shows.

I used to take my Civic there all the time, but I never let them do anything but the oil.
My neighbor went there a few weeks ago, and her kids noticed that the car was dripping oil all over the driveway when she got back to the house. I forgot to ask her what their explanation was, but I guess they either didn't tighten the nut properly, or cross-threaded it.

I think i saw this on TV a couple of years ago.???

If you let them rip you off they certainly will (airfilter, pcv valves, etc...). If you don't, all they can do is f-u-c-k up the oil change.

They put an extra quart of oil into a V8 jeep that I had (they thought it was the 6cyl....doh).... i took it back with a hot engine and the retard pulled the oilplug for about 5 seconds, then jammed it back in while hot oil sprayed his face and arms...... brilliant....

They leave the washers off the oilplug, spill oil on your suspension and not wipe it up, etc......

They probably get paid $8.00 an hour, so I guess it is expected.

Its part of bonding to your car. It makes you appreciate the car even more. Your Sportscar is like your Dog. You have to treat it with love.
