Erik suddenly feels really relaxed as if all the weight is lifted from his stress. He's almost happy.

I've just given him some Versed and Fentanyl to help him relax.

His left arm is prepped and draped and a special catheter is placed in his radial artery. Once that has been secured a large IV the size of a drinking straw is placed into his right neck jugular vein. Then into this IV is placed a specialized catheter called a Pulmonary artery catherter.

Erik is very relaxed and all this doesn't bother him.
