This may not help with your immediate needs, but I put a few ports for our whole-house central vacuum system (Vacuflo 260) in the garage. The motor unit was there anyway, so it was very easy to do......and it is fantastic to clean cars with.
I still have my shop vac for wet stuff, but that's all I use it for now (which ain't much
)
