any certified rescue diver or divemaster here?
I got my Rescue Diver certification from NAUI in '90 or '91. It was the toughest dive training I did (I also have my Advanced Diver certification.)
The worst part was the surf rescues in heavy surf while having to maintain mouth-to-mouth. We also did a simulated open-water emergency scenario where anything could happen and we had to be prepared to react and respond to whatever did happen. Several "ringers" were brought in in a heavily-dived area with lots of other divers. Lots of fun!
Most of this was done in a weekend scenario, but there was classroom training (don't remember how much) prior to this, as well as some prior dives (I think).
One weekend for the whole shot sounds optimistic. Plan on being completely exhausted!

Nope, sorry, can't help you with that one.
I used to be very current for the first 2-3 years I was certified. We had several friends with boats suitable for diving and did about 50 dives per year. Then we moved to LA for four years and started diving only when we were on tropical vacations. Now I get 2-4 dives every other year.
