Im trying to figure what to get my mom for her birthday. She always tells me she doesnt want anything. Any ideas? Not too expensive, but not too cheap.

Something useful that works better than something she already has, or if you could think of something she would need. A new set of really good pots and pans? A new set of krazy kitchen knives? Winter's coming, so maybe new goose down comforters?

ahahaa, seeing those 2 inappropriate comments just reminds me about that S2Ki going downhill thread in the S2K Talk section.

I'd try and keep it a personal item, like clothing, jewelry or something that is just for her. No pots/pans unless she lives alone.

Birthday presents aren't meant to be practical, they should be something that the person doesn't need but wouldn't ordinarily buy for themselves.

but this is for the mom. My mom never uses any of the jewelry, watches, or perfume I've ever gotten her. I'm looking at this like the mom doesn't want her son to waste $. If you buy something practical but better than anything she would buy for herself, it's still a good gift.

I always send flowers. She has just about everything she needs/wants and like yours, my mom doesn't want me to spend a lot of money.
