Default Any gun nuts here?

I am looking for some opinions here as I am about to buy another weapon for concealed carry. I have owned a Glock 27, but I ended up trading it in. I always regreted it and missed the Glock quality and peace of mind.

So, I am going to pick up another. This time, I have settled on a .45 round instead of the 9mm that the 26 carries. This leaves me with either the 30 or the 36 to chose from as far as subcompact models are concerned. I was wondering if anyone has any input on these two models. I am leaning toward the 36 for the thinner frame, but not sure if it will make enough difference to warrant the loss of three rounds extra that the 30 carries.

Thanks in advance and please, no flaming from the anti-gun people.

I have a Glock 22, 40 caliber and I love it. I've had it about 10 years. Glock's rule.

Yeah, it was either get another Glock or try out a Sig. I figure since I have had good dealings with Glock, why change. If I were looking for a new full size though, I might try out the Smith M&P model. Seems like I great weapon.

Glock 30 .45 ACP here. Sweet gun. Go to a rage and try it out. It's not for those of small hands because of the double stack mag. And it's small so it kicks a bit.

Thanks, have you shot the 36 single stack to compare it to?

if you're looking for a round with stopping power but want a little less heft, i suggest trying .357SIG.

my personal preference are SIGs and H&K.

I ahd considered the .357SIG, as I have heard very good things about it. I have heard it described as a .40 on steroids

For some reason, I keep gravitating toward the .45 round, either acp or gap. I am a fairly large guy, so I don't need a mini small gun to be able to conceal it. Might as well get the round with the most that I can.

Talking about small guns, I had bought a Kel-Tec P3AT. That thing was wayyy too small. Tough to shoot because it was only like .75" thick. Good weapon to put in the pocket though if it is very hot weather and you arent wearing much. The other down side was that it didn't like hollow tips very much due to the ramp being so steep. Shot ball ammo nicely though...

Have you looked at the Springfield XD's? The XD-45 has gotten nothing but great reviews..

Looks like a great gun, but I need something that will fit for an inside the waistband carry.

Sigs are sweet. I have a P220 .45... but my carry piece is a Glock 26. As said earlier, if you have larger hands, you might actually prefer the girth of the 30 vs the 36. But it depends on whether you plan to carry concealed, etc.

My buddy has an XD .40 and it's a great piece, but seems a little sloppy compared to the similar Glock .40 subcompact. This isn't to say the quality is questionable, there's just something very solid about a Glock, to me at least.

Good luck!
