any long range shooters here?
Sako TGRs are very, very nice rifles. Very accurate, smooth action. You will not be disappointed.. A $2600 TGR-22 demands some very nice glass though.. so you really need to decide how much you're willing to spend.
A Remington 700 could easily shoot just as well.. and with some work on the action, etc, it could shoot better. Out of the box they're often close to .5 MOA, and sometimes even below. I would fully expect that sako to be sub .5. I fully expect you not to be for awhile
Personally I would start off with something less expensive, and upgrade it as your skill improves. $850 on a Remington 700P and $1000 for a optic setup will shoot better than you at first. Eventually you can have the action worked over by a pro, get a new stock, whatever. The money you save by not buying that TGR will go a looong way on improving a model 700. For instance, send it off to Tactical Operations, and maybe 800 to $1000 later, you have a guaranteed .25 MOA rifle.

please don't start any killing spree.
I have a Rock River Arms A4 (.223, 20" heavy barrel) with a Leupold 6.5-20x50 LRT scope. Not really effective out past 600m but it is fun to shoot and the ammo does not cost as much as my 30-06 or 300 Win Mag. Never really tested out the MOA, but RRA spec'd it at sub .75

You don't want a bolt-action, long rifle for a killing spree, you want an AR-15 with a high capacity mag.
