Any new immigration rules?
As topic, is there any news or new rules? I heard them talking about it before the election but nothing on the news since then.
I´ve been trying for close to 7 years now but stopped two months ago, not worth it anymore.
Can´t see why it´s so hard when you have a job, place to stay, no criminal background and strong will to work hard?

Really? Because my wife is Canadian and about two and a half years ago we got her residency without any real problems. It was all just a matter of getting the paper work together. You have to stay on top of it though. We had an immigration attorney do our stuff only because it was easier. My family immigrated from Mexico to the US and did it on their own and it took forever. But then again we spent a lot of time going from one place to another all because you had to get a form from here and then send it in and then wait. Then they would hear nothing about it and call to find out that they didn't answer or write something correctly and they would never call to tell us so the process had to start over. I learned to keep good track of paperwork because of that.

A lot harder to do all this from a distance, still need to work here to survive. Last try I stayed for 5 weeks but had to go home cause I couldn´t work in USA without the Visa.
Also, the lawyer told me it´s harder to get a Visa in Cali because of all the competition there, he recommended me to try in another state but that´s not right, got my place to stay, job and friends in CA.

Not all who run over the Mexico/US borders are South Americans, theres plenty of people from other countries who use it as a ley way into the states. It'll be the cheapest and quickest way in. Good Luck
You need 6 years of work on an H1B Visa to apply for a greencard.
After you have your greencard it takes about 2 more years to get US citizenship.
There is a cap on the amount of H1B & H1C visa issued if you work in the private sector (65,000). No cap for Non profits and educational institutions. Also if you have your masters in a scientific, engineering or highly technical field they can make exceptions.
