Default Any one in the Escrow/Title/ Real Estate Field?

The Real Estate market has really slowed down here in the Napa Valley (Gives me more time to spend here ) and I was just curious how many people are in this field and if they have been effected by the slow down. I'm on salary plus commission so I get a paycheck every two weeks but my commissions have greatly decreased. I am finding myself cutting back on a lot of things...like fixing up the S!

It depends on what part of the field you are in, half of my friends work in the industry.

Out here in New Jersey/New York area we just had AHM go under which meant a slew of lost jobs. It seems like the non-bank lenders got clobbered and then my good friends who work over at Wachovia are busier than ever since they are of the few places people can still go and get loans. They are putting in crazy hours and are having trouble keeping with demand.

Texas is about 5 years behind the curve, it should be busy right now...

You read about Dallas all the time being stable or appreciating, not sure about the Houston area though.
