For what it's worth, I pulled the trigger and purchased an Alienware system yesterday. Once it comes in (estimate four weeks) I'll do a little writeup on it.

Yeah, I know. But given the 72hr burn in, benchmarking and other quality checks - I can wait four weeks for a machine. We've had our share of DOA machines here at work. Building it myself would have taken about as long, probably. Anyway, the Alienware site states that if you buy one of their suggested configurations, they can ship in 2 to 3 days. I'm assuming the already put those machines together and tested them and just have them waiting around on shelves right now.
