We are in the transportation business................yes, but until YOU PERSONALLY land an airplane in less then 1/4 mile visibility, with a ceiling of 200ft with the wind gusting to 50kts up in St. Johns Newfoundland and no more fuel to go elsewhere, then you can come talk to me about risk

More bus drivers die. The roads have tons of dangers too, not to mention the fact that they dont have copilots and ATC people helping them along the way. It is just elitism. I am not saying anything is wrong with either job, but most are wrapped up in the aura of it. Most people forget the nuts and bolts of it. I am just passing along what I learned from talking to people in the job.
Look I understand what you are saying, its a job and it is but flying an airplane has more risk then driving a bus, its not an opinion, its a fact.
"its just elitism" <----------- you lost all credibility with that statement

Oh excuse me, your job is just so god damn intense. My grandfather was a pilot and my uncle was a controller.

, I bet I can gather 155 people who beg to differ
I think every passenger on that plane should consider giving the pilot something of aprreciation for saving their life. Whatever it may be - each and every person on that aircraft owes their life to Scully. What a tremendous pilot!! That, my friends, is sheer courage, skill, fast thinking, training gone right, and determination. This man is a true hero! give it up!!
