When I want a drink, I take a bunch of fruit and mash it up in a bucket. Then I add a little water and some sugar for good measure. I let it sit for about 3-4 weeks, then I place a t-shirt over the bucket as a strainer to remove remaing chunks. And presto, homemade liquor southern style!!

 

The movie From Hell has lots of good absinthe scenes in it.

 

Correction for this thread,

You can in fact purchase Absinthe in the US. There is a company in Illinois that imports it along with hundreds of other liquors. HOWEVER!! It does NOT have the wormwood extract in it. Therefore, it is just another tasty green liquor with no hallucigenic effects.

Another note; it is not illegal in the united states; it is only illegal to sell. It is legal to order online and have it shipped to your house, as long as you are not reselling it. The stuff I had a couple of nights ago just made me drunk+ some other mild effects. The wormwood extract was present in this bottle (i believe its called thujone but don't quote me please.) But i read up on it a bit after the fact and found out that the brand i have (too long to spell correctly; check first post) is absolute crap. I'm going to buy another bottle of supposedly good stuff.
