Anyone ever go for a drive hooked up with an IV?
Can't believe I did it.....
I get a weekly IVIG treatment (3 hours long!), where I am hooked up to a pump, and a 15 gram IV treatment. Last week when the nurse was over (a great looking 27 year old, 5'2" 102 lbs), I said, I'm going for a drive when I had the line in my arm.....
She said, no your not, and I proceeded to take to pump off the pole and get in my car.... she decided that she had to go along (we had talked about going for a ride from time to time!).
I think I scared the sh*t out of her when I took a 20 mph curve at 45, but, besides that, she wasn't fazed too much! Even hit 100+ so that I would get my "fix" for the day!
I wonder if she will go for a ride with me again this week?

geeze.....try driving with a heart transplant, prosthetic leg[arm..etc..]plate in your skull, hip replacement, fused spine......com'on...take out the iv,have a root canal and pop a vicodin or two...now THAT'S a drive.
Never drove but I did spend the weekend in a city clinic next to a bar. My wife and I went to the outdoor table and had a beer. I was in my hospital garb and the rolling IV pole was on the clinic side of the fence with the tube draped over. Got some stares...
