Default Anyone ever take a PS2 controller apart?

Mine had a small piece of plastic in it makin' noise, so I took it apart, I know where every piece 'cept 1 goes, can anyone help me figure out where it goes?

Thanks in advance.

I've broken a few controllers in my day, and had tried to fix some of them, what piece are you talking about?

I believe it fits under the D-Pad, it's a little black plastic (duh...lol) piece that has 3 "fingers" to it, looks kinda' like a claw. The D-Pad itself has 4 sides, so I can't figure out how this works because it only has 3 sides...

If I remember correctly it goes behind the rubber backing of the either the d-pad or the buttons, i can't remember which, the claws fall between the gaps between the buttons. hope this helps.
