Ive been to two autox's. I went to the first great america one and had a blast. I want to go again, but I need to get some new tires first. Id like to get out more and meet some people! January sounds like it might work.

I think I was at that auto x, don't let tires stop you, I'm running on lifeless tires right now but it's still tons of fun. It's especially fun when you don't care about your tires
You can also go to the Friday meet in Milpitas I'm usually there, people usually show up around 10pm.

For sure. I went to the milpitas meet one time and I was the only one there. I think it was someones birthday thing or something like that. Im running basically slicks right now, my wear bars are pretty much gone. Gonna get some new tires in the next couple weeks. Ill try and make it out to the next event, or meet.

A couple of quick questions...
Can you suggest an on-line vendor?
Are these typically dicounted? MSRP is $160+, what can I expect to pay?
Are these plug-n-play or will additional hardware be required?
Would this be appropriate for a 10yo boy? He wanted an air-soft rifle but his parents said "no".

Online... Ebay, horizon hobby, amazon probably has them.

Discounted yes if you shop around a bit. Ebay is a good place to look for deals on these.

Yes if you get the RTF(ready to fly) version. You take it out of the box and fly.

Yes perfect for a 10yo boy. It is VERY hard to break, VERY hard to break things with. VERY stable yet still challenging to fly.

Here's a good micro-heli for $145 -

http://www.rc-fever.com/walkera-dragonfly-...tor-p-6082.html

Basically it's the same type as the E-flite but the Walkera comes with metal parts and brushless motors - those are normally aftermarket upgrades.

The walkera 4#3B is harder to fly because it is a true single rotor design. The E-Flight has a LARGE flybar so it flies more like a co-axial helicopter. The walkera CB100 is more like the E-Flight mSR. The 4#3B is NOT a heli someone can just pick up and fly. It is very challenging to hover.

Also go with E-Flight if you want durability. The walkera's break easier.

I would start with the mSR or the CB100 then move up to the 4#3B.

After 30 some odd years, my dad still gets me the best toys. A Blade MSR. (one for him too - lol)

I've recently been playing with a 4#3 but its so twitchy and just not durable - even after light wall, chair, cat coming out of nowhere batting it out of the sky strikes.

We both have a large selection of helis, planes - large and small and the MSR is probably the most fun for just buzzing around the room - both of us agree. Love this new mico heli.

Get one! - great step up from the mcx or other co-axes and great fun for the experienced.
