Since this thread has already started... what would be a good beginner helicopter around the $100 mark (if such a thing even exists lol).

I've been thinking about getting one but haven't read much about them and with my bday coming up, I need to give my GF some ideas of what to get me... hehe... and this is looking interesting to me.

What kind of battery life should be expected out of a full charge?

These things look like a lot of fun... I can see how they can get addicting, especially once you start the outdoor stuff... lol.

6-8 mins per battery... but the charger charges 4 at once and each is like $1.50 on hobbyking. By the time i finish a battery the others are charged. You will get tired of flying before you run out of batteries basically.

They are the same except one is Bind and Fly and one is Read to Fly.

Bind and Fly comes with no transmitter
Ready to Fly comes with a transmitter

A lot of people already have spectrum transmitters so they save some money and just re-use something they have.

No worries. It was a good question

The mSR is great. It has the stability of a co-axial (dual rotor) like the mCX but the speed and control of a single rotor. You could hit a small child in the face with it and not hurt them (I know from experience ). Flies beautifully indoors and outdoors on calm days. Good battery life and you have to really try hard to break it.
