Default Anyone get "free" digital cable?

Out of curiosity I was looking around to see what kind of boxes or descramblers/filters there were out there that allow you to get payperview channels and such. I used to have a clearmaster box when I had analog cable and it worked pretty well. All I could find for digital cable were things of this sort:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...&category=39803

They are all over ebay and claim to improve your signal reception with the added benefit of allowing you to order payperview flicks without having the cable company be aware of it. It then goes on to specify that you should not use these to steal cable service

I was wondering if anyone has used these before or something similar. There's even a guy on ebay selling an email that gives the "TRUTH" about these things and how they don't work. But I've also found testimonials of people who say they've tried it and it does work. Who to believe?

I heard about these. What happens is that it does let you watch the movies, but you get the bill after 2 or 3 billing cycles, as it was only delayed not unaccounted for. BEWARE of DUMB SHIT like THIS!

When I was in college we had dss and pirated it too, but after I moved into an apartment I got the cable service mostly because it came as a package with my internet service. I found that I didn't really need the extra channels that dss provides. Most of the time I just watch comedy central or mtv. Pretty much the only channel that I used to watch back then that I don't have now is the Playboy channel

Nexus i guess you like 596,597,598 or is it 496,497, etc

;-)

dss is better than cable as dig cable is a two way commication whereas old analog / dss is only one way

Man this brings back some memories. They have added some channels since I used to "borrow" it. Everybody loved to put the TV on 598 at parties.
I got rid of mine after a mandatory government security conference I atteneded. The FBI agent who spoke mentioned the DSS thing directly. They are going after people using a law intended to protect the government. Something about interecpting a satelite signal, since the law as writen when only they used satelites. They are looking to crack down hard, so beware! That law maybe some BS, but it made me scared enough to throw my stuff away 3 years ago.
