So it sounds like I need to actually buy (damnit) another software (PowerDVD) to get it to play on my PC? .... Or I can just get my PS3 lol.

You need 3rd party software to play Blu-Ray on a Windows 7 based machine. The codecs required are patented and therefore, need to be purchased, and thus, MS doesn't include them cuz they don't want to pay whatever outrageous price it would cost per OS license.

This

It was the same deal for DVD for a long time too.

You COULD try VLC Player. I think it can play BR natively, but I am not positive...

Yes, I have a driver that has "Blue Ray" on it hehe and another slot for just DVD RW.

There's no free bluray software. The the BluRay Disc Association has some super strict requirements and a large licensing fee.
