I just got it. It was my favorite game for DC. I like the driving feel better than GT3. It has some really sweet touches. Plus, I love driving the BMW 12cyl LMP.

It might be tough for people that are now used to GT3, though.

I thought about buying it, but decided not to because the graphics on the box didn't look that great. . .

Sunchild, how are the graphics compared to GT3? Do you think its worth buying?

That game is *awesome* for DC.... thanks for reminding me that I have it! I've been playing GT3 too much lately. Test Drive LeMans *feels* super fast arcade-style, and yet demands a lot of skill and racing experience from the driver (in a satisfying way). A sleeper hit, IMO.

Any difference between the DC and PS2 version or is it even out?

Steve,

I'm so glad someone will back me up on this. I can't express how happy I am when the vapor trails are coming off my Panoz Esperante on the 217 MPH back stretch of LeMans at sunset. What a game.

I've got it here (along with my #second copy of GT3), but I'm at work so I can't say how it compares. If it's anything like the DC version, it's genius. How much worse could it be?

Sunchild,

After you play it for PS2, post a reply. . . I'm a sucker for a good racing game, but I can't stand racers that aren't worth the price of admission (i.e., Ridge Racer V for PS2 )

Hey you PS2 guys, maybe you can answer a question about using the regular composite video inputs (RCA plugs) vs. using S-video cable or component video inputs. I ONLY use the PS2 for games and NOT for DVD/audio playing, so if I use component video cables, will graphics on GT3 appear even sharper and crisper??? Thanks.

Yes. On my system the difference between S-video and component video is dramatic, which is actually sort of troubling since it shouldn't be. It looks much better than a composite RCA or S-Video.

Thanks! Guess I'll have to go and pick up some new cables.

Well, I gave LeMans 24 Hours a test run last night. It's still the same great game. It suffers from the PS2 jaggies to a certain extent, but it's still the most exciting racing game, IMO. The sense of speed is so vastly superior to GT3. Try putting it into the view from inside the car looking over the hood and tell me you don't feel like you're going 200 MPH.

One other minor point: the PS2 version doesn't vibrate the controller as accurately as the DC version. Overall, still a great game.
