I am an ceritified and licensed Amsoil dealer. The startup process is a pain in the donia as there is tons of paperwork to look over/fill out and lots of products to research but its well worth it especially if you live in an area with many tuned cars or just people who love their cars in general. (milwaukee, WI )

As for income, it depends on how much you advertise yourself and how much business you actually get. Everyone has different experiences. Let me know how it works out for you.

cliff notes:

Order Amsoil, make a silly request in the "special instructions", get a bunny drawn on your box!

I looked into carrying the line in my store. The margins were shit. Of course the rep said we could make it up in volume. Idiot.

If you are buying and holding inventory, especially inventory for a niche market, you need a 50% margin (buy for a dollar sell for two). You'll never get that with a petroleum product. If you can average around 50% with the entire range, you're doing better. Don't let the rep stroke you into believing that the average customer buys six quarts and that's how you make your money. IIRC, profit was something like 15 or 20 cents on a $2 quart. My numbers might be off, but my proportion is close. At that range you will quickly learn you are wasting your time and tying up your cash.
