Any recommendation for a nice day cruiser for 2? Ok, space for half a dozen will be needed as well.

Remember one thing, Mr. Pig. The two happiest days of your life: The day you purchase the boat and the day you sell it.

Pig, I'm in NJ and I have a 25 foot bow-rider. I don't know what your definition of a day crusier for two means, but I have definitly spent many a comfortable day out on the water in my boat with my ex-gf.

Questions:
Where do you plan to do your boating?
Do you require a cabin of any kind?
Do you plan to fish?
Do you have a rough idea of how much you want to spend.

My boat is made by a company called Cobalt. It is a really solid well built boat. I have used the boat from Sandy Hook down to Atlantic city. The boat runs great with 1 person on board and I've gone out to dinner at Clark's Landing in Pt. Pleasant with 10 people on board. I love the boat and I can't say enough good things about the maker. Check out: http://www.cobaltboats.com

Their boats are not cheap. I bought it at the NY boat show in 1998 for approx. 45K, whereas you could easily find a 25' bow rider for 25k or less. But, as we all know, you pay for what you get.

BTW, I will be brining the boat up from LBI to the Navesink river this weekend. Feel free to give me a buzz anytime you guys want to go out for a cruise.
