Default Anyone a patent lawyer?

I want some info on getting a patent...how much do the fees run just from the USPTO, and how much to get a normal patent lawyer to do the patent search and write it up?

I know one if you need someone. Search is anywhere from $500 to over $1000, actual application will be a few thousand.

4IG, is there a specific formula or outline you followed when writing it up? I read an article mentioning that its actually pretty tough to write up a good patent that won't be trumped by someone else pretty quickly.

its very hard, if you have bad enrish lik me its hard

hmmm, i forgot the website....errrrrrr i know there is a .gov website that tells you how to write your own patents. If you are serious about your idea i would highly suggest either writing your own, or having an attorney do it. I know its 6K, but that 6K pays for the headache.
good luck man
