Default OMG...CNN HN has Tom Clancy on...

CNN actually dug up Tom Clancy and is talking to him about how this sounds like one of his books. The madness begins...

We've become way too dependent on technology. I'm sure the CIA is going to get a pretty healthy boost in their budget to do get some more agents out there.

Has anyone considered that those F#$%# NG B@$#$RDS got their idea from that book of his where the Japanese pilot crashed his jumbo into congress?

That was the first thing I thought of when I heard the news. Great book and great imagination. A pity it gave a mongrel terrorist organisation a simple way to kill 10,000 people.

I think Clancy gets a lot of his inspiration and info for his stories from some people in the know. I think Hunt for Red October had some amazingly accurate details on how to make a silent propulsions system.

I'm sure Clancy got his idea for his book from some of the possible threat scenarios that are done by the security analysts. I doubt that they got the idea from his book.

Significantly predating clancy's book was "Black Sunday" (?), the movie about crashing a dirigible (?) into an NFL stadium in the middle of a game--maybe the Super Bowl?. So long ago, I don't remember much about it, but you can certainly understand why major league baseball cancelled its games yesterday.
