anyone use pixela image mixer?
I have a sony camcorder and recently tried using the included software, Pixela Imagemixer, to transfer my videos onto the computer, as MPEG format. The problem is, the files are HUGE. For about a 5 minute clip of video, the size is 112 megs! And the resolution isn't even that great.
Did I miss something here? Has anyone else used this software for transferring? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I've got a Sony camcorder as well. I thought the Pixela software is just for still photos. I got MovieShaker with my camcorder. That's what I've been using to create my movies. The file sizes are huge, but you have keep in mind that (at least with my camera) that you're taking almost 30 frames per second at 720X480 resolution.
Hmm, see, that's what I thought too, since my camcorder is MiniDV, so I thought the file sizes were huge because of the fact that the video is digital quality. But most of the video clips I've been downloading, whether of car races, music videos, whatever are all reasonably sized even at high res. So how are these other guys doing it?
You got me. I'm stumbling through this whole DV (I've got the MicroMV) thing too. I do know that some MPEG formats are in the neighborhood of 320X240 which would make them considerably smaller. If the movies you're downloading come up fairly small (2"x3") then they're probably not 720X480. I've got a network guy that works for me and he has spent more time coaching me through this whole process, and I have yet to burn anything to DVD or CD yet!
