I must be missing something, because I don't understand what all the hype is about. My $100 SLVR has iTunes....

$500-600 with a CONTRACT? No, thanks! Without a contract, it must cost a gazillion dollars, huh?
I didn't read it that way. I read it was $500 w/o a contract.

But if you look at the "list" phone prices of most of the phones they are in the several hundreds of dollars range too.

It is actually $500 (or $600) with a 2 year contract from cingular. As far as I know, there have been no non-contract prices released yet. I'm guessing $800+, but who knows.

I'm getting one! It is missing a couple things though. Navigation rather than just google maps would be great and 3G ability would be tits. But either way, I'll happily be a biatch and shell out 600 for one when it comes out in June. I"m such a lemming.

definitely ashame that the iphone doesn't have 3g support. Sources say that 3G support will be available in later versions of the iphone.

From what has been released, Cingular stated that they will not be selling the iphone without a 2-year contract when launched. I'm sure they'll be a way to get it without a contract like from ebay but like lieber said, it'll be more $$.

crazy t-mobile needs too get some more cool phones!
Cingular has exclusive rights to the iphone for the first six months. After that, all phone carriers will be carrying the iphone.

Where are you getting this from? Everything I've seen from credible sources says that Cingular has a multi-year exclusive on this phone.

Just like all things the prototype looks good, just hope when it is mass produced it is equally as good. Sucks just only for AT&T subscribers but hopefully that will change.
