for any of those who watch or heard the news about survivor winner, Yul, Kwon, this would apprear to be a considerable victory for asian men in the media and society.

do you think it helped? how much and in what ways?

i personally think the guy played a great game, but was too cold and robotic. his victory was tainted by others commenting that he had a percentage calculator in his head, making him look like a nerd.

an additional topic for discussion:

do asian men deserve to be equal in the eyes of women? i have to admit that i know many "weak" asian men who do not command respect and while there are those types in every race, it makes you wonder if asians are more passive and less dominant than other males.
might I ask what race you are?

what the hell are you talking about?? equal to whom?? reality is that, generally, no 2 races are viewed equally in the eyes of an individual. all races have traits that are either desirable or undesirable to the eyes of each individual. black men, latino men, asian men, white men, european men, etc. all have their own traits that some women find to be desirable while others don't. if asian men are less desirable, as you seem to be implying, then this country would be filled with an abundance of single and unmarried asian men. but that's not the case.

if what you said is true, there would be no genetically fat people around since no one really wants to be with a fat mate. asian men are not all single because there are many people who take whom they can get.

by "weak" i mean that they don't put forth a dominating/leader personality percentage-wise when compared to other races. in fact, the trait of being passive has probably help them survive and thrive financially in america.

like i said, it's a touchy subject that needs to be discussed maturely. if you're not up for it, don't bother to flame. simply saying that different women like different men is cop out in a key of denial. all women like the brad pitt type, don't they? i am not putting anyone down, but rather discusssing the difficult social landscape that exists.

"Asian men are short" <-You don't need to be a racist, just have eyes to agree with this
"Asians have bad accents" <-depends on what you like, some have a neutral accent
"Asian men have bad teeth" <-Most of the ones in Asia do
"Asians eat dogs/cats" <-First hand experience in Asia says yes they do
"Asians are addicted to opium" <-No comment
"Asian men have small penises" <-
"Asian women have tight pussies" <- My experience says so.

who cares what the media portrays. It only matters what your circle of contact (friends, family, etc) think about you.
carry yourself the way you wish to be seen; that'll be stronger than any stereotype by the media.
my white friends from the midwest don't think I'm weak, nerdy, etc.
I don't think they marry their cousins and drive old pickups.

you gotta do some research and educate yourself before making a statement like this one. There are a lot of Asian American males that are smart and intelligent with a strong leadership. Its just so sad for people like you who are brain washed by the stupid media to think whatever they want you to think of a certain race. You should think outside of the box.

But mid-westerners do drive old pickups. I know. I grew up in Ohio. In fact I still have one.
Also, I heard that in WV an KY the family trees do resemble ----------------------- a straight line.
Now to say that must be true of them just because of the stereotype would be wrong. Yet, my belief is that stereotypes were not created out of thin air. Choosing the stereotype is usually the safer bet.
