I am not 100% sure, but I am pretty sure that the Atkins diet tells you to eat 20g of carbs per day. I did the Atkins diet for 2 weeks, lost about 16lbs, which I put back on within 2 weeks of coming off it, even with much increased exercise ...... I really wouldn't advise anyone to try it .....
the thing to understand with any weight loss program is that it is piss easy to lose weight if u have a lot to start with, 200+lbs is a lot for a guy 6ft, especially if they arent ripped, no offence richard
it cracks me up when guys 300+lbs proudly declare "i lost 80lbs in the first week" hey, ur still a fat piece of crap, keep going tubby, again no offence to our larger brethren, ur trying at least
the thing one needs to understand is that weight loss is a lifestyle thing, u cant just lose weight and be done with it, u need to make it a part of ur life, like how family is a part of ur life, or work is or a pet is, and that my friend is the difficult part, all the others are easy and fun, not saying that running 45 mins a day in summer is fun or getting ur ass handed to u by a brown belt is fun, but u need to look at ur options when u want to lose weight.
rich, u say u have cut out beer and pizzas, etc, but can u do that for the rest of ur life, thats a long time, the key is to make healthy eating and exercise a routine, like waking up, like going to work, like taking a dump, it needs to be regular.....
the atkins diet like all diets and weight loss programs is a start, but u need to look at how long u can sustain it for, i mean it does get boring eating that way, now u need to add other stuff like running, or joining a gym and staying there or joining a sports team as part of ur lifestyle, and if u think being obsessive about a car is bad enough and time consuming then think about setting aside at least 2 hrs every other day or 4 times a week to exercise, cause thats what u need if u wanna get in shape and stay that way for EVER!!!!!!!
its about being healthy for life and in doing so its about having a healthy lifestyle, no saying lets go to the pub, or the movies and stuff our face with globs of fat.
hell, im no joe 6 pack, but i like to keep fit, i can just do a 20 min 4km run, but i at least try to stay healthy, and i think i am part way there, just an opinion

I'm more than happy to share my diet with anyone SERIOUS in committing to weight loss. I've lost over 70lbs and went from 33% to 13%BF in a year and 3 months...

And she works as an fitness instructor at fitness world.. so it's not like she doesn't exercise.
IT DOESN'T WORK!!!! YOU can never get off the atkins diet unless you want to gain back your weight.. and it's really unhealthy to restrict out so many carbs.
If you really want to lose weight just watch your calories and exercise. There's nothing better than a balanced diet.
What's the point of being skinny if at 45 years old your heart or liver of kidney or whatever fails because you don't eat a balanced diet.
It's funny to see people think its all fat that they lost when they see on the scale and lost X amount of lbs. The typical person usually just cares what's on the weight scale, not their body composition....The worst part about losing weight is blaming it on a disease or genetics, when what they really lack is self control over their body and mind...
