Default ATTN: ANY HR PERSONNEL, question on getting offer

I went for a job interview Thurs morning. Basically, towards the end of the long 1.5 hr interview, the CEO (the IT consulting firm owner) told me he's impressed with what he sees. He thinks that I'd fit really well in his company and with his employee. He said he does want to make me an offer. He mentioned that he has to create the offer document first and that he'll get back to me (by e-mail, phone, whatever) later on in the day (thurs afternoon) or fri morning.

When I went to work after the interview, I immediately sent the CEO a thank-you note via e-mail.

So here I was, all thurs afternoon and fri whole day at work, I was on my home ISP's webmail, refreshing it every min, hoping that the offer would pop up in my inbox. I was essentialy going nuts as fri was drawing to a close since I didn't get anything in my mailbox

So what should I do now? Maybe he was too busy and he couldn't get back to me? Should I call him first thing Mon morning to get some update? What should I say????

Ah, I'm just going crazy here, not knowing what's going on?

You could call him up and just say you wanted to check whether he had sent the offer by email or by regular mail, as you were concerned that your ISP's spam filters may have filtered out his email before you received it....would that work?

you are definitely well within protocol to contact him today (Monday) considering the fact that he said he would have an offer letter to you by Friday.

consider the possibility of him having sent it to the wrong email address (and that person just deleted it). wouldn't he be a bit confused-- and possibly irritated-- by your apparent lack of response?

call the guy. and congrats on the job offer.

Call him, thank him for the interview and ask if he has already sent out an offer letter.

I called him on Monday morning for updates of what we had discussed about. He said he's been swamped with whole bunch of stuff on thurs and fri and promised to get back to me by day's end. Monday evening came along ...nothing

It wasn't until Tues evening when I got home from work, I checked my email and there it is

Now I gotta break the bad news to my current boss!

Thnx guys!

Actually, this company has clients in Calgary so I may end up doing trips from time to time
