As stated above, they are two really different cars. I think the TT is more of an everyday car... it has more features geared towards luxury. Want heated seats? Want climate control? How about all wheel drive? The TT is your car. If it's all about engine and drivetrain/chassis, with less concern for comfort features, then the S2K is your car. Consider all the pros and cons of each approach to building a performance car.
Both cars are fun to drive in their own right. Both are plenty fast, with the S2K being slightly faster. You definitley have to work harder for it, though. To many, that is what a sports car is all about.
Also, the engine in the 225 TT is quite different from the base TT despite having the same displacement. Importantly, both the 180 and 225 are easily chipped to gain 30-40 more horsepower and even more torque. To do that in an S2K takes significantly more cash.
Just food for thought.

The reason I put the flaming part is because a lot of the time when people don't tout the S2000 the best on this board, you get a lot of flack. Especially when saying a domestic might take the most performance for the price award, which of course is my opinion. I think the S is close, and I would still not trade in the S for the Z06, just have mucho respect for that car.

One of the things that put me over the edge w/the TT Roadster: It weighs 3400lb! (225/q/roadster).
It's flat out a porker, there's only so much quattro can hide (as you'll note from my sig, I'm a big VW/Audi fan...)

Every time this topic comes up I just have to chuckle! And I can truly say there is no comparision between the two cars (s2k & TT, never driven a z06
) I'm lucky enuf to have both in my garage. Well in theory they are...
My 2001 225 TTTQC is in the shop for a new clutch & 3rd gear and about 12 other non-major line items. The s2k I believe is in Jason's garage. Well maybe she's out for a jaunt, while I'm stuck working
But I digress! Besides for the #4 failure my s2k has been perfect. Reliable Honda, period. And my TT, well, lets just say she's high-maintenece. But all being said, the Audi is the daily driver, luxury sport sedan with many creature comforts. The s2k is purely a sports car. And the s2k is wicked fast compared to the TT. TT = 3200lbs+ (she's a BIG girl), 225hp, mega turbolag. Just think if you never got into VTECH thats about the overall speed of the TT.
I came in 2nd to last at nationals in Astock with my TT. Six months later and in the s2k, I'm doing much better. Still learning the car, but so much closer to the competition that slaughtered me last year. Looking forward to running ASL with Bannanie in a competitive car. The 225 TTQ will be moved down to Gstock next year (or whatever they call it).
Like the looks of the TT or hate them, I don't really care. Beetle on crack, ha ha that's the first time I've heard that! I'm looking forward to chipping my TT, hopefully that & and exhaust will get rid of some lag. The suspension is well, wussy and that's because it's not a sports car. AWD hides a multitude of driver error. And because of all that, the TT is easier to drive, but the s2k is a lot more fun. Stop the madness!!! There is no comparision!
