baby squirrel pepper sprayed by cop
While I think that the officer should have used a different approach to taking care of the squirrel (E.G. putting it in a shoe-box or something and releasing it into the wild), I think a lot of people are misunderstanding what the cop was trying to do and that was to make sure nothing happens to anyone.
The scenario would be different if a kid was bit by said "rabid" squirrel and then the parents would just end up suing the school. So instead, the parents are going to sue for endangering their kids livelihood since they didn't let the squirrel do it's own thing and now they are "scarred for life". Just one of those incidents where you just need to move on and deal with it.

Perhaps the squirrel was rabid and the cop was trying to protect the children?
I'm surprised some of you folks in this thread, virtually squealing and whining like the kids in the video (who, may I point out, still sounded scared shitless as the squirrel so much as moved a millimeter in their direction).
Abusive cops is a big deal. Whether it be a human, dog, or squirrel is kind of irrelevant. He is paid with the peoples money to protect them, he did no good for the people and instead pissed off a bunch of people by abusing a curious baby animal.

yeah i dont understand why no one stepped in. someone could have just carried it away in a shirt or a backpack or something, or just ran at it and scared it away. apparently both the cop and the school principal kicked it too.
good news is - it was taken to animal control where it was cleaned up and released back to the wild.

Wow seriously? I love how everyone makes a big deal out of everything. The press will take anything and try to make a story out of it.

I did not see the part where he stomped the wild animal into a grease spot.
