This is where cheap rum comes in play I prefer Captain Morgan's (spiced) over Bacardi or other light/dark rums. Morgan's isn't terribly expensive and tastes very good with coke, IMO.

You can use either light or dark.

some essentials.... then you can move on to the high-end stuff:
triple sec
Grand Marnier (for the Margaritas, among other things)
Vermouth (for those Martinis)
Cuervo 1800 (or Patron )
Grey Goose Vodka
Johnnie Walker Black Label Scotch
Bacardi Rum
Bombay Sapphire Gin
John Daniels (I know him really well, so I can call him by his real name )
Amaretto
Kahlua
Bailey's Irish Cream
* Those last three are key for chick drinks and also nice hot coffee drinks

Ok, now I'm inspired to do some drinking... damn it... it's too early...

And love the ice cold Jaegermeister suggestion.

along with the other lists, dont forget the grenadine, and of course the everclear, or if you cant get everclear, just substitute in some rubbing alcohol mixed with kerosine and you will get about the same effect

I think if you finish anything larger than a pint you are looking at some serious alcohol poisining. I left 151 rum and everclear off the list purposely as I don't think it is a good idea to serve it to guests as the effects of it sneak up unannounced and can really mess someone up.

Back in my "frat"tastic days we'd put those away like nothing else! 151, sprite and cranberry together is like a limp di**, it can't be beat...

Doesn't anyone here like Tanqueray? I'm more of a martini guy and in my home bar, regular Tanq for normal gin drinks, and No. 10 for martinis. For vodka-based martinis... Belvedere and only Belvedere.

Cheers!
