Default Bay Area Obsession with animals:

First, there was the tragic killing of a young, beautiful lesbian by two large attack dogs, owned by 2 wierd lawyers (really wierd, they adopted a grown pelican bay inmate and sent naked pics of the female atty to said inmate, "cornfed Schnieder") in a ritzier section of town, with the DA pesonally taking on the case, despite pressing problems such as repeated murders of witnesses to the big block gang's crimes:

Then there was the wierd cat lady, who bought a house in Petaluma, JUST for her 197 cats, drove from the city daily to feed them, but the cats totally trashed the place:

Then there was the bischon frisee which got thrown in traffic in a road rage incident in the south bay, for which there was a $120,000 reward, when a central valley serial killer has almost no reward money out for his apprehension: (iggy tyre r posted this from an Aus source, you can find more details at SFGate.com)

And a poor child is mauled by a pit bull, requiring extensive reconstructive surgery, and the owner tries to hide the dogs:

And the editor/owner of the SF newspaper from which the above articles spring, Phil Bronstein, who lives in sea cliff with his wife sharon stone, manages to get mangled by a komodo dragon:

Look on the bright side, at least San Francisco has some of the most overvalued/overpriced real estate in the country, rolling blackouts, and some very twisted attempts by local government with respect to social policy!

Cheers -

You forgot about the alligator that lived in Golden Gate Park a few years ago.
