It kills me when all these supposed "techies" say Dell sucks. Come on. If it really sucked, it wouldn't be the #1 comp maker around. Sure you can build your own and get marginal improvements (and pay twice what I paid). I'll stay happy with my "pre-manufactured" Dell and enjoy it for what it is....a COMPUTER.

I've had my Dell DImension 4100 for over 5 yrs now and its been a solid PC. No breakdowns, nothing.

Twice? If your went totigerdirect.com and picked out the componets you might pay a little more because your components would've been better but in the end it would've been a bettervalue that is if you don't mind building your own. They even install the motherboard/poersupply//processor/and memory but not the drives and other cards.

dell is number one due to pricing, marketing, and an uninformed market.

next to other brands set up identically, dells are often slower.

Dell used to cater to the techies as they were the performance leader. that's before they adopted walmart's strategy.

The X300 will probably not play BF2. The only up-option is the Geforce6800 and ATI X850XT which rock.
Well then, that limits your options a bit, so unless your willing to dish out 400 bux you cant play BF2?

allright wow Got my dell overnight shipping all for free amd I received it around noon The printer is coming in tommorow since it was shipped at a diff location but its just the printer no biggie.

Also ATI has these montly updates for its video card drivers...the newest update is huge for gaming. The ATI 128mb card I use has this feature of hypermemory etc and in this update gains of 25-65% are seen on 3d games/FPS etc.

BF2 time soon Still debating wheter to get BFV also since I luv that combat era but not to many people on servers from what I've read!

Where do you drum up this garbage from? Dells are usually at the top of their range. Sure if you compare a Dell2400 to an Alienware, it'll suck. Compare an XPS to an Alienware or DIY, you'll see they are comparable.

Where do you guys get off saying the parts are cheap? I have nothing but quality parts in my dell.

Oh well, enough arguing about a comp.

I'm happy with my Dell and consider myself to be "in the know" when it comes to PC hardware.

I still say you can't go wrong buying a P4 3GHZ, with 512mb and 40GB sata drive with a 24" LCD including DVI inputs for only 1199. You just can't get any better than that.

eh I'm still sticking with Dell and glad I did. I even had a lady call me the next day to make sure I got everything correctly. Pretty good service if you ask me.
